Solution #5

A Tom’s Guide poster suggested that the problem could be that the jack or adapter are malfunctioning.

The user suggested purchasing USB adapter for it- this way the headset/microphone will work through the USB port. If all of these fixes fail, it could be time to buy a new one, or return it if it’s still under warranty.

Solution #6

Another novel solution comes from the Tom’s Guide forum. After a user had purchased a Razer Kraken pro neon blue headset, he complained that the mic doesn’t pick up any sound.

The solution in this case came from a tech wiz who suggested moving the microphone plug only partially in. This might work if the contact between the port and the plug is somewhat ‘off’.

You can also experiment with an audio extension cable, or other type of adapter, to try plugging it into the laptop and the microphone into its other end.
