The C600 resembles a classic Logitech webcam – it looks like an eight ball with a hole in it. The camera housing is made of black plastic, but the 2-megapixel sensor is paired with a glass lens. The internal microphone is attached to the top, while the six-foot USB cable is permanently attached to the back of the cam. Logitech claims that universal clip mounting is compatible with notebooks, LCDs and CRT monitors.

The QuickCam software included with the C600 can be used to take videos or photos and even allows uploading videos directly to YouTube via one button. Other features include video effects that can apply filters to images in real-time, add face accessories such as cartoon crowns or arrows through the head, or replace someone’s head with an avatar like aliens or dinosaurs.

Logitech Capture allows you to change various recording settings in C600, such as resolution (360p, 720p or 1080p), frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 or 60fps), and lighting and color correction. Software features switch for autofocus, white balance, image stabilization. You can use recording and streaming software of your choice, such as Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and XSplit, with StreamCam.
